Hooks Marsh is regarded as a very good mixed fishery with the emphasis on specimen fish. It is perhaps best known for the quality of bream fishing it offers and the fish are an excellent average size with specimens well into double figures present. Like the bream, tench also grow well in Hooks Marsh and fish to over 10lb have been landed. Pike fishing can be excellent during the winter months with legered deadbaits accounting for the better fish.

Night fishing is allowed.
The River Lea, Lea Navigation and lake to the north are out of bounds.
Weils disease is prevalent in the Lea Valley, take care.
A high security gate has now been fitted at the entrance to this venue.
